The forests of Petalburg (open)

Kazuki decided to take a stroll in the forests instead of the beaten path as he moved on to Petalburg, where the sun shines directly on the back of your neck. At least, the forest has a canopy to shelter one from the sun and the sound of leaves rustling in the wind is a great music as well.

Eve seemed to be much happier as well when they stepped into the forest. Bounding about and climbing up onto trees, leaping from one branch to the other.

"Becareful Eve! Don't fall down and get hurt now." Kazuki called out to Eve as she carried on playing among the trees.

A girl with red hair and somewhat muddy clothes raising up a pokeball in her hands, challenged him to a battle.

"Woah! Cool it! I'm sorry if yo-" Kazuki broke off, as he saw a bunch of traps behind the girl.

"Erm. Are you... By any chance a poacher?" Kazuki asked, he was shrouded in disbelief. How could a girl like her be setting up traps for wild pokemon? Aren't those things meant for rough and tough mafia-like hooligans to do?

Holy... She is one... Blazing hot girl. With fury that is... Guess I'll have to cool her off.

"Well, if you put it that way, I'm your teacher for today. To educate you on Pokemon rights!" Kazuki snapped back.

"And you can come at us anytime you want. We're ready when you are!"

Eve assumed her battle stance, legs open wide and snarling, her tail straight out and she stared hard at her opponent, a Ponyta.

I knew it. Feeling over confident because of a type advantage? Ha. She'll see.

"Eve! Use detect! And close in on that Ponyta quick!" Kazuki called out to Eve.

She responded immediately and her eyes glowed a little.

"Afterwhich, give'em a good tackle!"

((What does Detect do?))

"Cyndi! Dodge it!" she shouted, but the Leafeon hurtled towards the Ponyta at speed and sent the pokemon backwards.
"Ugh... Cyndi! Kick up the dirt to blind the Leafeon!" she said, and Cyndi kicked up the dirt on the path and sent it flying at Leafeon who was immediately surrounded with a type of smoke.

((detect allows one to avoid attacks, by literally "detecting" the move before it comes. and btw, doesn't cyndaquil spew out the smokescreen by itself? xD))

Darn it. She's good, attempting to cut off our vision... Now what? I can't see anything and neither can Eve... But... Not everything has to be seen to know where they are...!!! Thats it!

"Eve! Listen to the wind and leaves! Get yourself up to a tree! -hack, cough- Fast!" Kazuki shouted into the smoke, choking as little as he inhaled some smoke.

A small breeze came by and the leaves rustled. Eve immediately could identify a tree nearby and she wasted no time to leap right up into it. Giving herself a much clearer view of the battle field from above, than within the smoke. Visibility was poor, but she could make out silhouettes of both trainers and Ponyta.

"If you can spot Ponyta from up there, then dive into it with another tackle!"

((Yeah but ah well xD))

Joe laughed as she knew she was about to win.
"Cyndi! Tackle that Leafeon!" she yelled as the Ponyta ran into the smoke...but couldn't find the other pokemon.
Eve plummeted down from the tree, gaining power as she went and...BAM!

Cyndi fell to the ground, coughed up a final Ember that hit Leafeon...and collapsed.

"Hmph..." she muttered, walking away and leaving the Cyndaquil behind. "Take the stupid girl. She's worthless..." she said, not leaving a penny of winnings for the trainer.

Cyndi was released!

Eve levelled up to seven!
Eve is trying to learn a new move... teach Sand Attack to Eve?

The dust finally cleared and he saw the back of the girl, walking away from the battle field.

Is she serious?! She is going to leave her pokemon just like that?

"Hey! Wait!" Kazuki called out to her, in the meantime, he ran up to the Ponyta and helped her up. She is hurt alright, but not to a terrible extent.

"Eve, are you alright too?" He asked Eve, who replied him with a lick on the cheeck and a purr "Leaf~".

"Hey!!! Waaaaiiiitttt!!!" Kazuki treid to give chase to the girl, guiding the Ponyta with his hands and Eve following close behind.

"Woah, woah?! A trainer with an attitude. And now a pokemon with the same attitude. I guess the behaviour of a trainer does really rub off onto his pokemon..." Kazuki wondered aloud.

With sigh, he covered his eyes with his right hand and said: "Eve, give that little fire-pony a tail whip, just enough to trip her over."

"Leaf~!" Eve bounded in front of Ponyta and lashed her tail right for the pokemon's legs. With his left hand, Kazuki readied a pokeball. Ponyta would make a pretty good mount if it trusts its trainer. Besides, it looked kinda cute, so he'll be trying his luck in raising it into a fine pokemon. Unlike that... Red-haired barbarian.

Taught Eve sand-attack, by forgetting helping hand.

"Wow. This little ball of fire sure is persistant. Eve! Sand-attack!" Kazuki called out, as he and Eve chased after the little Ponyta.

"Follow up with another tail whip!"

Kazuki did not want to hurt the Ponyta more than it already is. All he wanted to do now, was to quickly get it into a safe pokeball, and get them all to the Petalburg pokemon centre for a rest.

Kazuki then readied another pokeball and gritted his teeth.

As the pokeball was thrown, Ponyta couldn't get out.

The pokeball wiggled a few times.
Cyndi was caught!

Captured a Ponyta.
Cyndi levelled up to Six!
Cyndi learned Tackle, and Tail Whip.
Give a nickname to the Ponyta?

((Oh hey do you mind editing all your posts to say "Ponyta" instead of "Cyndaquil"? Not right away, just whenever you can.))

"Oh finally. Job well done Eve." Kazuki said as he bent over to pick up the pokeball, now with a Ponyta inside.

"Well, Ponyta... Or rather, Cyndi. I guess I'll give you a new name, as a sign of a new start for your life as a tamed pokemon." Kazuki spoke to Ponyta within the ball, "And so, you new name shall be: Hakari!"

Now with a new pokemon added into his team, Kazuki then headed straight for Petalburg city, where the next pokemon contest awaits and where he would be letting his pokemon get a good rest in the meantime.

((BUMP! The forum is getting a little quiet now. Trying to liven up a little.))

Having missed the pokemon contest, Kazuki dragged his feet as he left Petalburg City and headed for the woods of Petalburg again. He was not clear where he wanted to go, or what he wanted to do. But he does feel kind of depressed.

Eve was walking by his side, feeling concerned for her master and decided nuzzled herself in Kazuki's waist.

"Hey hey! That tickles! Haha." Kazuki jumped with a start and started smiling a little. Eve was glad that at least she had made her master smile and she pounced onto him, licking his face.

"Alright, alright. I guess you could tell that I'm still feeling blue eh? Beside, I don't think we could have done very well as we did not have much time for practice anyway." Kazuki replied Eve, stroking her and sitting upright again. "Now, how about some lunch?"

"Leaafe~!" Eve purred. While Kazuki got out three pokemon food trays and a large can of pokemon food. "Come on out for lunch everyone!" He said as he let out all of his pokemon for a lunch break.

When he's done preparing the food for them, he then took out a little self-made bento he prepared in the kitchen of the pokemon centre that Nurse Joy had gladly allowed him to use.
"Let's eat!!" And they all chowed down.
